PERS Update |
The vast majority of AFSCME members are also members of PERS — Oregon's Public Employees Retirement System. Oregon AFSCME is a leader in the fight for retirement security for all. For PERS members in particular, in the mid-1980s AFSCME was one of the founding members of the PERS Coalition, a voluntary association of public employee unions (and one community group) with members in PERS. |
Legislature |
It is easiest to contact Oregon AFSCME Political Director Joe Baessler or Political Coordinators Ralph Groener or Eva Rippeteau through their respective e-mail links if you have questions, especially when the Legislature is in session. You can also call them on their respective cell phones, listed below. |
E-lert |
The AFSCME E-lert is our newsletter targeted to people who want updates on legislative and political issues. The e-lert is generally published every week when the Legislature is in session, and periodically otherwise. You must specifically request to be added to the e-lert distribution list — click here and send us your e-mail address if you would like to do so. |
PEOPLE |
PEOPLE is our national union's political action program — Public Employees Organized to Promote Legislative Equality. PEOPLE is funded through voluntary donations from AFSCME members nationwide; PEOPLE involves no dues dollars.
For public employees, the people we elect determine the quality of our lives and our livelihood. |
